The short version. Everything you type into Wedding Planner (your date, your budget, your guest count, your answers) is stored on your phone and is never sent to us. There is no account and no login. The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK. The only time data leaves your device is when you buy a subscription, which is handled by Apple and by our payments provider, RevenueCat.
Wedding Planner is published by Scanly Studio. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and a person will answer.
The app asks you a series of questions and keeps the answers in local storage on the phone itself. That includes:
Once you are in the planner, the same local storage also holds the plan you build with it:
None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot read it. There is no account and no sync: the plan exists on this one phone, and it is removed when you delete the app.
You can build your guest list by importing names from your phone’s contacts. This is optional and the app works fully without it: you can type or paste names instead.
If you tap “Import from Contacts”, iOS asks your permission. If you grant it, the app reads names only: it does not ask for phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, photos or notes. The names are shown to you so you can tick the people you are inviting; only the names you tick are saved to your guest list, and the rest are discarded when you close the picker. Nothing read from your contacts is transmitted anywhere.
You can withdraw the permission at any time in iOS Settings. Doing so does not affect guests already on your list, which you can delete individually in the app.
The app can hand your guest list, your seating plan or the order of your day to the iOS share sheet, as plain text or as a picture the app draws on the phone itself. You can send it to a caterer or a venue yourself. The app has no server, no address book of its own and no ability to send anything on your behalf: where that text or picture goes is entirely your choice, and it is governed by whichever app you pick to send it with.
One service is involved, and only in connection with a purchase.
When you start a free trial, buy a subscription, buy the lifetime option, or tap “Restore”, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is valid and still active. For that, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation, the App Store transaction details for what you bought, and basic device and country information supplied by the store. It does not receive your name, your email address, or any of the wedding answers listed above. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Their own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple additionally provides RevenueCat with an Apple Ads attribution token where one exists, which tells us only whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign. It is not linked to your identity and no advertising SDK is present in the app.
This version of the app does not send you notifications and does not ask for notification permission. No push token is collected, and nothing would pass through a server of ours if reminders return in a later version: any reminder would be scheduled and delivered by your own phone.
Wedding Planner is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Because your answers never leave your phone, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting the app removes them. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and by Apple are retained under their own policies and for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information held about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice we hold almost nothing: your wedding answers are on your device only, and the purchase record is keyed to an anonymous identifier. If you want to exercise a right, or want the purchase record associated with your installation deleted, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and we will act on it. To manage or cancel a subscription itself, use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be flagged in the app.
